The show organized numerous activities for lovers of traditional art as well as new collectors.
The Luís Codosero Gallery from Madrid, an international benchmark in ceramic pieces, was the guest of honour at the show. This year marked the second time that this initiative to celebrate a gallery of international renown has been held.
The inaugural ceremony once again brought together more than 2,000 people from the worlds of business, society and culture, and reaffirmed its status as one the Fira de Barcelona’s leading social events.
Flashback, the concept of integrating antiques in contemporary settings, organized in collaboration with the MINIM studio, was one of the big attractions of the show.
The NOVA Selection, a collection of high quality pieces at affordable prices, is now established as one of the best platforms for making the sector accessible to new collectors. The pieces from this selection were identified with a special label and none of them cost more than 2,000 euros.
The four sessions of “Antique Studies and Conversations with Antiquarians” gave visitors a closer insight into the world of antiques. Four antiquarians examined and explained one of the pieces on display at the show to the audience. The sessions helped to break down the barrier of caution and wariness that often separates antiquarians and antique enthusiasts.
The technical seminar on "The Cult of the Object: from daily life to collector’s item”, aimed at sector experts and the general public alike, analysed what it is that turns an everyday object into a work of art. The seminar featured prestigious names such as designer André Ricard, businessman Javier Nieto, the curator of El Escorial, Almudena Pérez de Toledo, and UAB lecturer Bonaventura Bassegoda.
Organized by the Association of Furniture Studies.
